PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit that can reproduce an image optimum to each area. SOLUTION: The image processing unit is provided with a dot/non-dot decision circuit 103 that decides whether or not a center pixel corresponds to a dot based on gray level change information of a center pixel and its peripheral pixels obtained from received image data and conducts preset correction to detect a dot area and a period decision circuit 104 that applies orthogonal transform to the image data so as to decides a period of a target pixel or a target block from the signal after the transform, and also a filtering means that applies spatial frequency correction to the image data based on the discrimination result of the dot/not-dot decision circuit 103 and the period decision circuit 104. |
