PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for inspecting defects of container bottom parts which is set to the vicinity of a transfer conveyor for inspecting bottom walls of containers such as glass bottles, etc., and bottom parts of heel parts, etc., in an optical method. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a container-moving means 36 for storing containers on a transfer conveyor and intermittently moving the containers along an arc-shaped transfer path through intermittent rotation, a rotary roller 46 which butts against a side wall of a container B at a container inspection position transferred by the container-moving means and rotates the container, a sliding plate 59 which butts against part of a bottom wall of the container at the container inspection position to rotatably load the container, an inspecting jig head 50 with a plurality of projectors 60 for projecting light towards a bottom part of the container rotating at the container inspection position and a plurality of photodetectors 70 for detecting reflecting lights of the projectors, and an operation/control device for processing detected data of the projectors and photodetectors.
