PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gyro and its operation method capable of lowering a coupling loss generated when laser light is introduced into a light detector and a noise caused by returning light to a laser from external reflection points. SOLUTION: The gyro has a ring resonance type gas laser where lights circumferentially transmit mutually reversely to each other and detects beat signals as variation of current, voltage or impedance.
