PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dialer for communication terminal that has a function of preventing mis-dialing of an operator to the utmost under an office environment where extensions and external lines are intermingled. SOLUTION: The dialer detects a numeral of a head digit of a destination telephone number entered by the operator, compares the detected numeral with a preset external line dial number. The dialer judges that the dialed number is an external line call when they are coincident or judges that the dialed number is an extension call when dissident, and displays the result of judgement for the operator for its confirmation.
