<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver that can attain smooth transmission/reception high in continuity by adjusting switching timing from a slow hierarchical reception mode into a high hierarchical reception mode in the case that a video image of same information is simultaneously transmitted with high and low hierarchies depending on the hierarchical transmission. SOLUTION: This digital broadcast receiver is provided with a means that starts counting a restoration time calculated newest when an error rate reaches a threshold value or below in the case that the hierarchical reception mode is set to the lower hierarchical reception mode, a means that switches the hierarchical reception mode from the low hierarchical reception mode into the high hierarchical reception mode when the restoration time elapses while the error rate detected by the detection means does not exceed a threshold value, and a means that sets again the restoration time to start counting the restoration time when the error rate detected by the detection means exceeds the threshold value until the restoration time elapses.</p> |
