PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a bottom electrode of a direct-current arc furnace that is durable and enables reduction of the number of times of replacement of the bottom. SOLUTION: This structure of a bottom electrode of a direct-current arc furnace has an electrode main body which is formed of a metal round rod and installed at least in one hole provided in the bottom of the arc furnace and which is provided with one ring edge, and has a connecting seat which has an annular holding tank having an inner wall part and an outer wall part. The upper ends of the inner and outer wall parts of the holding tank are extended inward and outward respectively so that an inner projecting edge and an outer projecting edge are formed, and the inner projecting edge is connected to the lower surface of the ring edge, while the outer projecting edge is connected to the bottom. The holding tank is almost positioned between the ring edge and the inner edge of the hole of the bottom in the radial direction.
