PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera system with an electronic zooming function that executes high speed display processing for a normal EVF display and suppressed deterioration in the image quality of the zoom display screen in executing electronic zoom processing. SOLUTION: This invention disclose an electronic camera with an electronic zoom function. In the normal EVF display, a moving picture processing section 21 executes EVF display processing to a photographed picture by a moving picture CCD 14M with a low pixel number. On the other hand, in setting an electronic zoom mode, an electronic zoom processing section 63 executes zoom EVF display processing with respect to a photographed picture by a still picture CCD 14S with a high pixel number under the control of an electronic zoom control section 30. A picture changeover section 64 transfers display picture data (zoom picture) to a display system 6 from the electronic zoom processing section 63 in the setting of the electronic zoom mode.
