PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a read time depending on a type of original paper sheet and a read mode or the like without deteriorating the image quality. SOLUTION: A bandwidth read by one scanning is made variable depending on a size of original paper and a read mode. Then, R, G, B image data of a k-th band are sequentially read by one bandwidth and image data R1, G1, B1 of a pixel coordinates X(n, m) are stored. Next, the original paper is fed so as to partly in duplicate with a lower prescribed pixel area of the k-th band, R, G, B image data of a (k+1)-th band are read by one bandwidth and image data R2, G2, B2 of a pixel coordinates X(n, m') are sequentially stored. The image data read in duplicate in the k-th band and the (k+1)-th band are averaged to calculate correction image data, and the corrected image data with other image data not subjected to average processing are transferred to a host computer as a read image. |
