METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize excellent running performance and durability of a magnetic recording medium by using a lubricant having a lubricating effect kept for a long period and enhancing the adhesion stability between a protective film and the lubricant. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium is characterized in that the surface of the protective film is irradiated with UV in the atmosphere of inert gas and then the lubricant which contains a compound of bifunctional perfluoropolyether having carboxylic groups at the both terminals of its molecule and an amine and a branching carboxylic acid perfluoroalkyl monoester is held as an outermost layer on the surface of the protective film.
