DIGITAL FREQUENCY DIVIDER

PURPOSE:To achieve an accurate frequency division with less amount of computation, by operating based on the formula of double angle of a trigonometric function. CONSTITUTION:A sinusoidal wave is inputted to a signal line 5. A level detector 1 detects the level of the sinusoidal wave. The detected level and the inputted sinusoidal wave are summed. This output and the output of the level detector 1 are multiplied at a multiplier 3. The result of multiplication is converted into a root with a root generator 4. On the other hand, the sign of the inputted sinusoidal wave only is given to a sign frequency divider 11 for frequency division. The signal frequency-divided and the output of the genertor 4 are multiplied to output a sinusoidal wave frequency-dividing the inputted sinusoidal wave into two. The principles of the frequency divider are based on equation and the operation is made with good accuracy.
