PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the load on a control microcomputer which controls buffering operation. SOLUTION: In a buffer RAM, a 1st storage area wherein CD-ROM data of 235 bytes (one sector) can be stored by N sectors is secured and a 2nd storage area wherein sector information of respective sectors stored in the 1st storage area can be stored by N bytes is secured. The CD-ROM data which are decoded are stored in the 1st storage area in the buffer RAM by the sectors and the sector information generated according to headers, etc., of the respective sectors is stored in the 2nd storage area by one byte.
