PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed stabilizing method of magnetic tape to cause no slippage despite of a high tape feeding speed, to prevent the damage and winding disturbance of the tape that are caused by the slippage and also to attain the accurate positioning of the tape in its width direction. SOLUTION: In this feed stabilizing method of a magnetic tape, the magnetic tape is fed in its lengthwise direction by a roller feed means and also positioned by a width direction feeding stabilization means of the roller feed means. For instance, a roller having a flange, a crown roller and a concave roller are used.
