A gas generator (G) having a construction of enclosing a gas generating unit (P) and ignition charge (6, 76) by fitting holders (3, 73) into a cup body (1, 71) and a tube body (2) or a storing body (72) respectively, the holders (3, 73) being formed of resin. A metallic reinforcing material (4) is provided in the holder (3) so as to be integrated with the resin holder (3) by insert-molding. A ring body (74) for sealing between the cup body (71) and the holder (73) is fitted to the holder (73).
