A ceiling fan (20) assembly includes a plurality of blade holders (46) and a quick-connect mount (48). Each blade holder (46) includes a coupling tongue (54) having a locking groove (56) located in its upper surface. The quik-connect mount (54) includes a blade holder support (58) and a cover (60). The blade holder support (58) has a plurality of receivers (80) for receiving the coupling tongue (54) of the blade holders (46). The cover (60) is rotatably attached to the support (58) upwardly. The cover (60) has a downward skirt (134) around its outer periphery (126) and an annular blade lock (140) on the surface adjacent the blade holder support (58). The skirt has a notch (138) and the blade lock (140) has a gap (142) that are in radial alignment with each other and are selectively alignable with the receivers (80). To attach a fan blade (42) to the quick-connect mount (48), the cover (60) and support (58) are rotated relative to one another so that the notch (138) and gap (142) are aligned with a receiver (80). |
