The method is carried out in a cleaning appliance with several processing zones. The parts have the same diameters, are pref. closely packed vertically in a small parts carrier, and are advanced in stages through the processing zones. They are subjected to single/multi-stage wash, single/multi-stage rinse, VE-water rinse, water rinse, and compressed air drying processes. The carriers are moved at 90 deg relative to their longitudinal axis, and there are neutral intermediate zones between the processing zones. The appliance (1) has an intake (2) for the parts, washer chambers (3,4) rinsing chambers (5,6), blow-dry chamber (9), discharge (8) for cleaned parts, a parts conveyor, and an open parts carrier.
