The cushion (1) is positioned in a corner between vehicle roof and side wall. It has a top surface extending along the roof, and expansion sections (7-11) expanded by the generated gas. The sections comprise of a top chamber (8) near a B-column (34), an intermediate chamber (10) located on the column, a front chamber (9), and a rear chamber (11), all of which are connected to each other. Non-expanding curtains (12-15) between the chambers are stretched tight when the chambers are expanded.
