The photocell assembly for collecting solar radiation and producing an electric current comprises a number of individual cells connected in series. The cells are tall rectangles standing in a circle so that they lie on the generating lines of a cylinder. Their active faces are directed outwards. Connections are taken from the back of one to the front of the other in series around the circle. The two ends of the loop are brought to contact points in the middle of the circle. The assembly is mounted around the axis of a parabolic mirror, with the active surface of the cells directed towards the reflector. It is held in place by two supports which also serve as connecting terminals. The assembly may slide along the supports for coarse adjustment, and a screw and springs provide fine adjustment of the position. |
