PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing member for an adit for starting/arrival of a shield machine, which eliminates wrinkles occurring on the internal periphery thereof, to thereby further increase the reliability on sealing, and to provide a sealing structure for the same. SOLUTION: There is provided a sealing member which is fixed onto the internal side of an embedded ring arranged at a connecting port of an adit extending from a shaft. The sealing member is made endless, and formed of a rubber sheet or a resin sheet having a fiber reinforced layer embedded therein, the fiber reinforced layer being of a bias structure containing two code layers or more. Code anglesθof the respective code layers with respect to an endless direction are selected from a combination, wherein the equations 300 deg.<=θ<=60 deg. and -60 deg.<=θ<=-30 deg. are satisfied. There is also provided a sealing structure using the above sealing member.
