PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a masonry block for a retaining wall and a retaining wall structure using the masonry block for a retaining wall reducing types (size) of masonry blocks and optimally fitted to the retaining wall cross section by adjusting the thickness of a stay. SOLUTION: A pair of two masonry blocks 1 each having a stay 3 integrally formed in the rear face of a wall part 2 and a plurality of engagement parts (trapezoidal projecting bar 31 and trapezoidal recessed bar 32) arranged in parallel in the stay direction on the upper face of the stay are assembled together to be formed into a set of assembly block A. The assembly block has the front/rear and the top/bottom of the both masonry blocks for retaining wall faced in the opposite direction and appropriate engagement parts selected from a plurality of engagement parts are assembled in their engaged state.
