PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with plural kinds of work while easily and quickly exchanging some structural parts in a work positioning device with the structure that plural steel balls pushed upward by a tapered surface of a tapered pin inserted into a holder is brought in contact with the inner surface of a work positioning hole. SOLUTION: A guide member 68 is fixed to a holding frame 55 freely to be removed, and a holder 69 is connected to a holder driving body 81, which can not turned around an axis of a positioning hole 43, so that the connecting condition for hindering the axial directional relative movement of the holder 69 in relation to the holder driving body 81 and the connection canceling condition for canceling the connecting condition while relatively turning the holder 69 around the described axis by the set quantity in relation to the holder driving body 81 can be switched. A turn hindering means 76 for hindering the turn of the holder 69 connected to the holder driving body 81 around the axis is provided between the guide member 68 and the holder 69, and a pin driving body 89 abuts on the same shaft of a tapered pin 71.
