PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide rail for a temporary scaffold whereby dangerous works such as raising and lowering cargo to and from the temporary scaffold and for repairing concrete can be mechanized by means of a simple device. SOLUTION: This guide rail is formed of a polygonal columnar element having at least corner parts on its opposite faces. Plates to which clamps for clamping the columns of a temporary scaffold are fixed are fixed to the guide rail and pulleys for moving cargo up and down are freely vertically movably disposed on the opposite corners.
