PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new chain transfer agent which does not emit unpleasant odor, is not accompanied by inclusion of sulfur atom in the polymer chain, and has a room for adjusting chain transfer coefficient for specific polymerization. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by the general formula: CH2=C(R1)CX2 COOR2 [R1 is phenyl or another aromatic group, alkoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, carboxy, acyloxy, carbamoyl or cyano, which may be substituted as required; R2 is an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, cycloalkenyl, cycloalkyl or group shown by the formula: COOR3 (R3 is H, or an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl, which may be substituted as required), which may be substituted as required; and X is H or a halogen, or alkyl or aryl, wherein two groups X may be the same or different]. |
