PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of continually removing an acidic substance, a basic substance and a salt (polar substance) present in air as gas, mist or fine particles while keeping excellent initial capacity. SOLUTION: This apparatus for removing a polar substance in air is constituted of chemical soln. chambers in which a strong acidic chemical soln. is charged when a diaphragm is a cation exchange membrane, chemical soln. chambers in which a strong basic, chemical soln. is charged when the diaphragm is an anion exchange membrane and gas chambers adjacent to these chemical soln. chambers through ion exchange membranes being common diaphragms and permitting air to be treated to pass. |
