PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a metal double tube for high temp. capable of exhibiting an excellent heat transfer performance free from large influence resulting from high/low of its applicable max temp. in the metal double tube which is made by relatively tightly integrating a metal outer tube and a metal inner tube. SOLUTION: Between two kinds of metal tubes having different elastic/plastic deformation properties respectively, a metal tube having a large coefficient of linear expansion is used for an outer tube, a metal tube having a small coefficient of linear expansion is used for an inner tube, in the state that the outer tube is fitted over the inner tube, and then the outer tube is heated from outside and is kept to the temperature higher than an applicable max temperature of the metal double tube, a pressure fluid is introduced into the inner tube, both tubes are expanded/press joined, the metal double tube is produced.
