摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt driving apparatus capable of preventing breakage in a belt effectively, which is caused by stress occurring in preventing belt skewing. SOLUTION: Guides GR, GL for preventing offset are attached onto both side ends on the back surface of a belt to prevent an intermediate transfer belt 41 from skewing. Inclined planes TR, TL are formed on both ends of a driving roller 43 and driven rollers 45, 46 of a plurality of rollers stretching the intermediate transfer belt 41 at the same position and at the same inclinationθlower than or equivalent to 45 deg. (an angle formed by inclined planes TR, TL relative to the extension of the roller surface (a broken line in Fig.). The tension of the belt is applied to three points, and the stress on the belt can be applied to three points, thus it is possible to reduce the possibility of belt breakage extremely as compared with a conventional art in which the stress on the belt is concentrated on one point, thus it is possible to prevent the belt from being broken effectively.
