PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for machining a hole with non- circular section to be machined into a section of regular polygon without impairing an advantage of rotational motion. SOLUTION: For a method to process a hole H into a regular N-gon shape with N apexes, a processing means T with a regular (N-1)-gon shape inscribed in the regular N-gon shape to be processed is used for having the processing means T rotated along an orbital circle R with a predetermined radius having its center as a center O of the hole at a predetermined rotational frequency and for rotating around a processing means center G at a predetermined rotational frequency to machine it. Instead of the processing means T with the regular (N-1)-gon shape, a jet can be used. A processing means T with a regular (N+1)-gon shape can be used.
