PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal back carrier preventing disconnection of an upper frame from a lower frame and being easy to move. SOLUTION: The universal back carrier 10 comprises: a lower frame 12 with a pair of right and left hollow vertical frames 18a, 18b; a hollow upper frame 14 with a plurality of vertical frames 24a, 24b, 26a, 26b, 28a, 28b telescopically interconnected in a number of steps, the upper frame 14 being positioned above and connected to the lower frame 12; and a hollow chair frame 16 positioned below and attached to the lower frame 12. Connections between the vertical frames 18a, 18b of the lower frame 12 and the lowest vertical frames 24a, 24b of the upper frame 14 are fixed in place by use of frame- clamping nuts 30a, 30b for clamping the vertical frames 24a, 24b into place. Thus, the lower frame 12 and the upper frame 14 are formed integrally with each other. Casters 48a, 48b are attached to the chair frame 16 and used to facilitate movement of the universal back carrier 10.
