<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a hydrogen storage alloy improved in the point at issue that hydrogen is hard to be discharged since the stability of a magnesium-rare earth series hydrogen storage alloy with hydrogen is too high and also combining both high electrode capacitance and long life characteristics so as to withstand repeated use of charging and discharging, to provide a method for producing the same and to provide a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery using the alloy. SOLUTION: This hydrogen storage alloy is obtained by incorporating a nitrogen-contained alloy expressed by the general formula (Mg1-xMx) (Ni1-yTy)z (in the formula, M denotes at least one kind of element selected from rare earth elements including yttrium; T denotes at least one kind of element selected from Co, Mn, Fe, Al, Ga, Zn, Sn, Cu, Si, Cr and B; and 0<x<1, 0<y<0.9 and 0.5<z<4.0), a method for producing the same is provided, and a secondary battery and an electric vehicle are obtained by using the same.</p> |
