PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably precisely detect a minimum value of an intake pressure of an intake pressure sensor even when a timing of sampling is deviated from an actual peak intake pressure position. SOLUTION: In this fuel injection type four cycle engine 2, a throttle valve 54 is provided to an intake pipe 52 introducing air into a cylinder 7, an intake pressure sensor 57 is mounted at a downstream side of the throttle valve 54, an atmospheric pressure in the intake pipe 52 is detected by the intake pressure sensor 57, and a control device 81 carries out a sampling of a detected value detected by the intake pressure sensor 57, whereby a fuel injection amount is controlled. Smoothing means 101, 102, 106 for smoothing a value of the atmospheric pressure in the intake pipe 52 are provided in an intake pressure detection path extending from the intake pipe 52 through the intake pressure sensor 57 to the control device 81.
