In a new process for preparing triazoline thione derivatives of formula (I), in which R 1 and R 2 have the meanings given in the description, triazole derivatives of formula (II) are reacted with sulphur in the presence of an aprotic, polar diluting agent at temperatures from 140 °C-160 °C. The amounts of the reaction partners are selected in such a way that for each mole of triazole derivative of formula (II) 6-15 moles sulphur are present, air being led over the reaction mixture during the reaction.
