PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning agent not to cause hair to bristle, tableware to be greasy, or bathtubs and washbowls to collect grime by adding to a cleaning agent a fine powder prepared by drying and pulverizing a water-washed cuttlefish carapace powder. SOLUTION: A cuttlefish carapace powder is dried after being washed in water and then ground into a fine powder with the size not more than 10 microns, and the fine powder is added to a synthetic cleaning agent or soap to occupy 1-3% therein. The cleaning agent reacts with calcium or magnesium in the water, and the resultant metallic soap adheres to the cuttlefish carapace powder before adhering to hair, tableware, bathtubs, washbowls, or the like, and flows away together with the cuttlefish carapace powder, not causing hair to bristle, tableware to be greasy, or bathtubs and washbowls to become grimy. The cuttlefish carapace powder does not cause environmental destruction.
