PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material having excellent coating workability and excellent appearance of finish and to provide a method for finishing the coating material. SOLUTION: This coating material is obtained by compounding a base coating material with glass beads having 0.3-0.5 mm average particle diameter and glass beads having 1.0-2.0 mm average particle diameter. This method for finishing the coating material comprises using the coating material for topcoating in a finishing method for carrying out finishing through a sealer and undercoating on a substrate of mortar, sizing board, etc., and topcoating with a trowel.
