摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device and a driving method therefore capable of reproducing gradations at accurate and equal intervals, by considering a delay of a liquid crystal in response to a voltage pulse and controlling the voltage so as to be proportional between the number of applied sub-fields and effective brightness. SOLUTION: Gradation display is realized by dividing one field (a vertical display period) into plural sub-fields (sub-display periods). A field/sub-field timing signal generating circuit 13 generates a sub-field timing signal suitable for a temperature transmitted from a temperature measuring part 15. A data driver 2 and a scanning driver 3 drives pixels 6 at the timing, to display the gradation. In this case, an optimal time interval based on a use-environment temperature of the device is used by selecting it from plural data prepared beforehand.
