摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a prism assembly which can easily be manufactured by making two glass plates outside an effective area which are adhered to both end parts among optical glass plates, constituting a polarized light converting element, thicker than other optical glass plates in the effective area, the prism assembly, and a liquid crystal projector device in which the prism assembly is built. SOLUTION: This polarized-light converting element 10 is characterized by that two glass plates 59 and 59 adhered to both end parts among optical glass plates 58, 58, etc., constituting the polarized light converting element 10, i.e., two glass plates 59 and 59 positioned outside the effective area are made thicker than the optical glass plates 58, 58, etc., positioned in the effective area. Precisely polished glass plates need not be applied as two glass plates 59 and 59 like the optical glass plates 58 in the effective area and existent glass plates are applied.
