PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which allows the continuation of image formation as efficiently as possible in spite of the occurrence of a failure in paper feeding. SOLUTION: With the image forming device, a switching judgment request is set when the first sheet of front surface paper of a both side printer arrives at a prescribed position in another sub-routine and, simultaneously, a timer for the switching judgment is set as well (S21, S22). When the timer is below the value corresponding to the inter-paper spacing necessary between the front surface paper and the paper for the first sheet of the front surface when the front surface paper is fed (YES in a step S23), a switching request to rear surface printing is emitted (S24, S25). When, on the other hand, the timer is above the prescribed value (NO in S23), the switching request to rear surface printing is immediately emitted to a host controller (YES in S26) regardless of the value of the timer in case of the occurrence of the failure in paper feeding at the front surface. |
