PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tangential tilt mechanism that has only a small number of parts and that facilitates correction of a tangential tilt. SOLUTION: The tangential tilt mechanism 40 is equipped with a pair of tilt supporting points 16, 17 which cross the moving direction of an optical pickup 11 at right angles and which are attached to both sides of a second base 10 through a spindle motor 4, a first supporting member 41 one end of which is attached to a first base 1 and the other end of which supports one 16 of the pair of the tilt supporting points 16, 17 in a rockable manner, and a second supporting member 42 which is attached at one end to the first base 1 through an adjusting screw 45, which supports, with the other end, the other tilt supporting point 17 in a rockable manner, and which, at the other end, is elastically displaced in the height direction against the first base 1 through the adjustment of the adjusting screw 45, displacing the other tilt supporting point 17 in the height direction with the one tilt supporting point 16 used as a fulcrum.
