PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver that offers ease of operation with enhanced user-friendliness by easily switching and displaying guide information not displayed on a screen in cross-reference with direction keys. SOLUTION: In the case of the receiver that selects guide information displayed on a screen by direction keys 204-207 of a remote controller 200, when any of the direction keys 204-207 is singly operated, a plurality of selection items of the guide information displayed on the screen can be selected in an operating direction of any of the direction keys. In the case of operating the direction keys 204-207 by depressing an operation changeover key 300, guide information having not been displayed yet is displayed corresponding to an operating direction of a direction key.
