PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the degradation in image quality like the blur of transferred images due to degradation in the cylindricity of a supporting substrate, etc., in an electrophotographic photoreceptor, such as an amorphous silicon photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor by forming a photosensitive layer consisting of a photoconductive material on the cylindrical supporting substrate has a flange forming stage for preparing the cylindrical supporting substrate and providing at least one of both ends of the supporting substrate with circular flanges and a photosensitive layer forming stage for providing the supporting substrate with the photosensitive layer consisting of the photoconductive material after the flange forming stage. As a result, the supporting substrate is formed to a columnar form to substantially prevent the occurrence of deformation when executing the photosensitive layer forming stage and therefore the electrophotographic photoreceptor having excellent cylindricitiy, etc., may be provided. |
