PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the write preventing device of a storage device for preventing erroneous write in a storage device. SOLUTION: A data processor 10 is provided with a CPU 12 and a flash ROM 14, and an outside device 16 can be connected with the data processor 10. When the outside device 16 is connected, a low level is inputted to a P0 terminal of the CPU 12. Thus, it is detected that the outside device 16 is connected by the CPU 12, and when a data writing command is inputted from the outside device 16, a high level is outputted from a P1 terminal of the CPU 12. Then, a high level is outputted from an AND circuit 20, and the write protect of a flash ROM 14 is released. Only when it is detected that the outside device 16 is connected, and the data writing command is inputted, the write protect of the flash ROM 14 is released so that any erroneous write can be prevented.
