PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively detect a target with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: Longitudinal transmission antennas 14a-14c and lateral reception antennas 16a-16c orthogonal to each other are provided in this device. The reception antennas 14a-14c are switched in order, and the transmission antennas 16a-16c are switched in order when one of transmission antennas is selected. A reception signal provided by combining the transmission antennas 14a-14c with the reception antennas 16a-16c is provided thereby. The generation frequency of an unnecessary signal can be brought into a fixed period by making switching period for the reception antennas 16a-16c integer times larger than switching period of the transmission antennas 14a-14c.
