DEVELOPING ROLLER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller which is capable of lowering the graininess of halftone images and improving image quality with a nonmagnetic developing device, and a method for manufacturing the roller. SOLUTION: The developing roller constituted by concentrically laminating a first layer consisting of at least one layer of a rubber elastic body and a second layer consisting of at least one layer of a resin layer in this order around a conductive shaft and having the center line average waviness Wca (fh 0.25 mm, fl 8.0 mm) of <=1.5μm. The method for manufacturing the developing roller consisting in confining the center line average waviness Wca (fh 0.25 mm, fl 8.0 mm) in the filter waves in the axial direction of the developing roller to <=1.5μm by uniformly applying a thermoplastic resin solution contg. at least one component of solvent having a boiling point of >=100 deg.C to the developing roller, then drying the coating at >=100 deg.C.
