The new type of nipple replaces the common spoke nipple which is made in a shape which allows the nipple tensioning tool to act on a small area at a time only, often resulting in damage of the surface. The new design of a spoke fixing nipple has several longitudinal grooves (3,4) arranged around its lower end for the insertion of matching projections, positioned on the inner surface of the tensioning tool (7). The lower end of the nipple is also slightly pointed (5) for an easier insertion of the tool.
