<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable Ga to be efficiently collected at a low cost from a solution containing a trace amount of the Ga at a low cost. SOLUTION: A solution containing a trace amount of the Ga, such as the solution obtained by a two-step neutralization treatment in a step for treating the residue after leaching zinc in zinc smelting is subjected to a prescribed treatment to form jarosite, and leaching the obtained jarosite by adding an alkali to separate and concentrate the Ga. If necessary, slaked lime or magnesium hydroxide is added to the leached liquid of the jarosite to carry out the solution purification, and sulfuric acid is added to the purified liquid to reversely neutralize the liquid and to precipitate basic gallium sulfate. An alkali leaching is subjected to the precipitate, and the Ga in the leaching liquid is collected by electrolysis to provide the metallic Ga.</p> |
