PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ligature instrument to surely achieve the ligature with a simple operation. SOLUTION: This ligature instrument 1 has a pair of long arm members 2a and 2b, and a middle portion thereof is turnably supported by a supporting point 9. The arm members 2a and 2b have operation parts 3a and 3b on a base end side, and ligature parts 6a and 6b on a tip side. The operation parts 3a and 3b are parts to manually operate the ligature instrument 1, and comprise rings 4a and 4b. The ligature parts 6a and 6b are parts to ligate a biological structure by pulling a string, and its whole shape is substantially of block shape. Grooves 7a and 7b for the string to pass are formed along the longitudinal direction of the arm members 2a and 2b at the position opposite to joining surfaces 8a and 8b of the ligature parts 6a and 6b.
