PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyketone that has a heretofore unattainable high molecular weight and, when applied to a gel spinning process which requires that the polymer to be spun is a high-molecular-weight one, gives high-strength high-elasticity fibers accomplishing a high draw ratio, therefore having properties such as high mechanical properties, beat resistance, and chemical resistance, and being useful for, especially, industrial materials. SOLUTION: This polyketone is one comprising at least 90 wt.%, based on the entire repeating units, repeating units represented by the formula (wherein R is a 1-30C organic group), wherein the limiting viscosity [η] of the polymer is at least 10.0 di/g. |
