PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil pan having a structure which can prevent generation of air bubbles in engine oil reserved in an oil reserving chamber when engine oil collected by a baffle plate is returned into the oil reserving chamber located below the oil baffle plate. SOLUTION: In the structure of the oil pan 1, a baffle plate 4 is formed at its opening 5 with a guide part 9 which is suspended from the edge part 5a of the opening 5, having a front end part 9a is dipped in engine oil 3 reserved in an oil reserving chamber 6. With this arrangement, engine oil 3 once collected by the baffle plate 4 is led from the opening 5 and through the guide part 9, and is finally returned on to the oil surface of the engine oil 3 reserved in the oil reserving chamber 6 below the baffle plate 4, and accordingly, the energy of the stream of oil returned into the reserved engine oil 3 can be damped, thereby it is possible to prevent generation of air bubbles in the engine oil 3.
