PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that an antistatic agent of a conventional incorporating type synthetic resin is insufficient in the persistence of antistatic effects. SOLUTION: This resin modifier is excellent in the persistence of antistatic effects and affinity for a resin and comprises a polymer having a monomer unit represented by the general formula (1) (R1 denotes a hydrocarbon group; X denotes hydrogen atom an organic group or a hydrophilic group; and m denotes a number of >=1). The resin modifier preferably has 3,000-100,000 weight- average molecular weight.
