PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of an elevator allowing to prevent fracture of a guide rail even when multiple elevators continue in a building where a horizontal displacement is generated. SOLUTION: In this structure of the elevator in the building provided with a base isolation device between an upper floor and a lower floor, multiple pairs of the guide rails are arranged and installed in parallel with the lateral direction of an elevator shaft. Each of the outside guide rails is mounted to tiltable right or left strut, vertically installed to right and left ends of the elevator shaft, at a middle part of a part elastically deformed. An upper end and a lower end of the right and left struts are attached to an upper floor and a lower floor than a floor where the base isolation device is installed, respectively. An intermediate beam horizontally placed in a back and forth direction of the elevator shaft is provided between two inside guide rails close to each other. An inclination of the inside guide rails is restricted by the intermediate beam.
