<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the joint strength of a head body part and a closing member of a piston. SOLUTION: A hollow cylindrical body part 170 of a material for manufacturing a piston has a cylindrical inner peripheral surface 172. An opening of the head body part 170 is closed with a cover member 164. The cover member 164 comprises a disc- like cover member body part 190, a small-diameter fit-in protruding part 192, and a shoulder face 194. The diameter of an outer peripheral surface 200 of the fit-in protruding part 192 is made slightly larger than the diameter of the inner peripheral surface 172 of the head body part 170 to provide a fitting allowance. Prior to fitting the cover member 164 to the head body part 170, a first liquid and a second liquid of a cold setting two-liquid adhesive are applied to an opening side end face 180 of the head body part 170 and the shoulder face 194 of the cover member 164 respectively. The cover member 164 is then pressed into the head body part 170 to interference-fit the outer peripheral surface 200 and the inner peripheral surface 172. The opening side end face 180 and the shoulder face 194 abut each other to specify a fitting depth. At the same time, the first liquid and second liquid applied to the end face 180 and shoulder face 194 are brought into contact, mixed and rapidly set.</p> |
