<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal printer capable of enhancing printing quality. SOLUTION: The heating elements of a thermal head are selectively driven on the basis of the printing data stored in a printing buffer to apply printing corresponding to two lines to a recording medium and, when the printing of the recording medium is stopped, it is judged whether the printing corresponding to two lines to the recording medium due to a printing control part is performed and, when the printing corresponding to two lines to the recording medium is judged to be performed or not, printing corresponding to an unprinted line is performed on the basis of the printing data of a printed line stored in the printing buffer. By this constitution, a blank line generated because a feed means is driven by one remaining line even after the driving of the heating elements of the thermal head is stopped at the time of the printing of the first line in the printing corresponding to two lines can be covered by double printing and double printing is visually inconspicuous as compared with a blank corresponding to one dot and, therefore, printing quality can be enhanced.</p> |
